SBYSP is a twelve-month program providing services before, during and after school, and some weekends during the
academic school year and during the summer. These services are available to students on a non-categorical basis,
thereby attaching no stigma to participants. This allows the youth a safe and supportive environment
where they have access to caring adults who assist in decision making.
SBYSP is a true community and government partnership funded by the New Jersey Department of Health and Human
Services. The Jewish Renaissance Foundation serves as the lead agency and as a referral for free primary and
preventative health care.
SBYSP depends on the support and assistance from a number of other agencies including: Catholic Charities,
Middlesex County Department of Health, the Perth Amboy Federation/AFT, Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey,
Health Families, Recreation Department, Perth Amboy Housing, etc.. By “partnering” with these additional resources,
the SBYSP can bridge the gap between being a social service program and public information network.
