An Answer For You |
|
"An Answer For You" is a resource center for teens who have trouble coping with the psychological and physical
problems that arise due to their age. Add to this their environment and lack of proper parental guidance and you
have the basis for the program. The ultimate goal is to provide a safe environment where freedom of expression
is encouraged.
This goal is attained by providing:
- An avenue for self expression
- Training in communication skills
- Encouragement to developed relationships with adults (parents, guardians, etc.)
- Development of self esteem
- A place they can call their own

Programming addresses the needs of the group and suggestions are taken from within and acted upon. Activities
include, and are not exclusive to:
- Movie nights
- Arts and Crafts
- Pizza Night
- Expression through poetry and music
- Week end trips
- Guest speakers
Topics include:
- Parenting
- Drug and Alcohol Abuse
- Teen Sex
- Domestic Violence
- Sexually Transmitted Diseases
- HIV/AIDS
- General health issues

The majority of adults involved in this program are screened volunteers and we encourage men, especially,
to become mentors as these teens are generally from single parent households with no male figure.
